Strengthening Schools Through Behavioral Health Supports

Jaime Patten

Parent Representative

Jaime Patten is a certified Family Support Facilitator with National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Jaime has over 10 years experience utilizing NAMI’s educational programs and support services within Connecticut. She currently facilitates and participates in peer to peer support groups with NAMI’s Child and Adolescent Network (NAMI-CAN). Additionally she remains involved as an alumni parent to several adolescent residential programs in New England that also provide peer to peer services.

Most recently Jaime testified about the benefit of peer support services in front of the Transforming Children’s Behavioral Health Policy and Planning Committee in Hartford. She believes that when, if or ever, parents are ready and able to share their stories it will help reduce the negative stigma surrounding mental health and could then create a safer space for preventative care for adolescents.
