Larry Hoffler Jr. was born and raised in the City of Waterbury, completing his schooling at Children’s Community School and Holy Cross High School. Before becoming a police officer, he completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology at Central Connecticut State University. Hoffler was a volunteer football coach for the Waterbury Patriots in 2013-13. In 2005, he joined the Waterbury Police Department where he was assigned to the Patrol Division. During this time, he has worked as a Patrolman and volunteered at the PAL program as a coach for baseball, basketball, and football. In 2027, he sat on the executive committee at Children’s Community School where he was also a volunteer teacher.
During his time at the Waterbury Police Department, he furthered his education by completing his Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Emergency Management and Homeland Security from Post University in 2021. offer is currently in rank of Sergeant and assigned to the Patrol division.
