Sergeant Shaun Goggins is currently assigned to the patrol division of the Waterbury Police Department. Sergeant Goggins is a lifelong resident of Waterbury, having attended Waterbury Public Schools. Sergeant Goggins has a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of Connecticut. Sergeant Goggins was assigned to the Community Relations division as a Mounted Police Officer in 2018, where he participated in numerous community outreach events. Sergeant Goggins was reassigned to the Criminal Investigations Bureau after being promoted to the rank of Detective in 2023. Sergeant Goggins was reassigned to the Patrol Division in May of 2023, after being promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Sergeant Goggins has been actively involved in the Waterbury Community for more than two decades, partaking in community events and volunteering with youth sports. Sergeant Goggins has extensive knowledge of the current juvenile crime trends and is heavily invested in finding positive solutions to better the lives of juveniles in Waterbury and across the state of Connecticut.
