Juvenile Probation - CSSD/Judicial, Juvenile Probation Officer II

Bio: Woody Vereen, originally from Bridgeport, CT, graduated from Central High School. He completed his education at Morehouse College in 2006. Upon returning home, he dedicated himself to working with at-risk youth in Norwalk through a nonprofit organization. In 2008, he joined the Court Support Services Division of the Judicial Branch, serving as a Juvenile Detention Officer at the Bridgeport location. Having developed a passion for training, Woody’s honed skills which led to his promotion as a Lead Juvenile Detention Officer.

He also assumed the role of Training Coordinator for Juvenile Residential Services. This opportunity allowed him to refine his expertise as a training facilitator. Woody achieved certification in various disciplines, including Foundations of Cultural Responsiveness, Training or Trainers, Human Trafficking Awareness, and MBTI Assessment Practitioner. There he also served on various sub-committees and focus groups. In 2018, Woody had the privilege of joining the Juvenile Probation Department of CSSD, where he continues to serve. Woody is a devoted husband, and father, proudly rooted in Bridgeport, CT. He considers it an honor to contribute to the community that played a significant role in shaping him.
