Senior Director, Strategic Initiatives
Donna Pfrommer joined the Tow Youth Justice Institute team in October 2016. Donna brings to TYJI a unique blend of experience in marketing, fund development, branding, communications and public relations with 20 years of experience in non-profits and 10 years in the consumer sector. She previously worked for 10 years at United Way of Coastal Fairfield County in several roles from 2006 to 2016, most recently as EVP Brand Management & Community Engagement. Over her decade with United Way, she raised millions of dollars from donors and corporate investors, she led and implemented a rebranding campaign, raised awareness of United Way’s focus areas, and through her strategic, cross channel marketing and communication skills, improved public opinion of United Way and its work. In the two years prior to joining TYJI, she worked with the community on a new Cradle to Career Collective Impact movement in Bridgeport. She worked with volunteers to create and develop a brand for the movement, a public awareness campaign to engage the whole community and to hold a Youth Summit for 1,800 Bridgeport students. The summit provided middle and high school students with a day full of opportunities for their future. She became excited about the field of youth justice and brought that enthusiasm to TYJI. Donna is a graduate of Fairfield University and a resident of Milford.
Donna works on seeking grants and other funding for the Institute to support its programs, initiatives and research needs. She uses a variety of marketing and communication tools to educate stakeholders and the general public on the issues being addressed by juvenile justice reform. She works with multiple partners in curating content to ensure the Institute is a valued resource in the State.
