M.S. Criminal Justice May 2022

Brikitta Hairston is a masters student in Criminal Justice intending to graduate in 2022.  She is a new student to UNH and this is her first year interning with TYJI.

“I really want to gain experience in the juvenile justice industry by working with the TYJI in communications and social media. This helps me connect with the outside readership as well as the staff withing the TYJI to relay their goals and practices while learning more about juvenile justice policy, juvenile justice, and methods to reducing juvenile crime.  I have been an advocate for juvenile justice for quite some time. I have been trying to figure out how I can use my work experience to participate in the right environment that collaborates together to meet common goals. When I started my masters program and discovered the TYJI, I found that it’s the perfect place for my goals. In the future, I want to be a good resource for juvenile justice non-profits or other organizations dedicated to reducing juvenile crime and improving the lives of juvenile delinquents who just need guidance and a helping hand.”
